The brainchild of The Duchess of Northumberland, The Alnwick Garden is a multi-award winning visitor attraction based in Alnwick, Northumberland. Our 12 acres of meandering and magnificent Gardens are home to the world’s largest Tai Haku Cherry Orchard, a Grand Cascade comprising water jets and the worlds largest Treehouse Restaurant.
The Poison Garden will be open, but we are unfortunately unable to offer guided tours. Instead, you can learn about what’s in the Poison Garden using a QR code reader app on your smart phone, or by purchasing one of our Poison Garden books available in our Gift Shop.
Our swinging benches are being thoroughly sanitised twice a day. The Alnwick Garden plays host to the small but deadly Poison Garden—filled exclusively with around toxic, intoxicating, and narcotic plants. The boundaries of the Poison Garden are kept behind black iron gates, only open on guided tours.
